June 24, 2009 - State of the Corum Union

Hey everyone,

I know it’s been a long time since you've heard from us but you aren't forgotten. Due to gPotato's and NDoors' (formerly Net Time Soft [NETTS]) rapid growth, personnel changes, and recession-caused issues, we've been forced to put a couple of projects on the back burner. Unfortunately, Corum has become one of these projects. I want to be upfront and honest with all of you loyal players on what happened to get us in this position.

Nero has left Corum and Gala-Net for reasons he's asked us not to discuss. We ask that you respect his wishes and do not flame, fight or become angered at his decision. We hope the best for him in all his future endeavors.

I am working on Corum as much as possible, however my priorities are focused on Luna Online currently. As our newest title, Luna Online requires a significant amount of time from all members of the new team. There are only 24 hours in a day, and the work involved in running 2 games at the same time unfortunately requires much more than the short amount of time available.

Corum4everyone was our outsourced Production Coordinator before NETTS was merged with NDoors. He was a phenomenal worker and helped bridge the communications gap between Gala-Net and NETTS. When NETTS merged with NDoors, his contract was completed. Because of his performance, we were very quick to keep him on our team and moved him to Aeonsoft, developer of Flyff. Since this move, Flyff has grown leaps and bounds because of him.

As I mentioned earlier, Net Time Soft [NETTS] has been purchased by fellow Korean Developer NDoors (Luminary, Atlantica). Obviously NDoors’ priority is also focused on their newest games. This is why for the past several months there has been no major updates to our version of Corum. Competition is a good thing, however conflicting interests in this situation has caused difficulty for everyone - players, GMs, engineers, everyone.

Currently job postings on our company's website are not for replacements but for our new titles, Aikaand Allods. Because of the combination of introducing new titles and the difficult economic times, all teams here at Gala-Net have been forced to make cutbacks, including Corum.

    What this means for you:
  • No Corum is not currently being shutting down
  • If there is discussions of a termination a restitution will be issued to paying users.
  • There will be no more updates from NDoors for US Corum.
  • Your customer service and technical support tickets will take much longer to get a response because of the lack of manpower available currently at Gala-Net.
  • All Billing related questions will be handled promptly.
  • All Item Shop prices have already been slashed at least 50%
  • We are committed to doing all we can for you with the resources we have available. I will be trying my best to remove prices from the Item Shop altogether so all items will be free
  • Furthermore, if there are items you wish to have back in the Item Shop, or never available in the item shop, Please post them clearly and politely in this thread and I will do my best to make it happen.
